Victorian Tramp Art Cabinet
If Victorian era people used the word “extra” I think they would have used it in regards to this killer cabinet. With its elegantly stenciled glass doors and delicate upper gallery rail, this is a piece of craftsmanship that goes above and beyond most Folk Art furniture. The handsome brass hardware contrasts with the rich dark finish on the carved woodwork, complete with bead and reel moldings, diamonds, and bullseyes. The handsome exterior does belie some secrets as the drawers open to reveal salvaged box sides as construction material. A fantastically unique piece, late 19th-very early 20th century.
