USS Maine Etched Glass Window

$350.00

The Spanish-American War broke out as a result of the sinking of the US Navy ship Maine in Havana Harbor on February 15, 1898. Newspapers in the United States, using yellow journalism to increase their readership, accused the Spanish of destroying the ship. "Remember the Maine! To hell with Spain!" became a catchphrase that inspired action. The events leading up to the war were expedited by the Maine explosion, even if it was not a direct cause.

Whether you’re a history buff or your beach house doesn’t have enough, this little window will make a statement for any home!

Acid-etched scene originally from a Sear’s Catalog type half glass door, cut down to portrait size. Leaded into a larger panel with borders of textured and etched glass, and set into a homemade wood frame. One side of the frame is painted in solid white primer, while the other is white with a sanded worn look.
