Turn of the Century Farrier's Cabinet
Wild horses couldn't drag me away, but this late 1800s Farrier's cabinet sure could! What was most likely originally made as a printer's cabinet to store and layout lead type, has been labeled and retrofitted for a farrier's needs. One of the labels on the cabinet says "McCaffrey Horse Rasps" which was a tool manufacturing outfit in the 1800s to 1900. Rasps and hand bastards are words for different types of filing tools used in woodworking, metal smithing and specifically horse shoe maintenance and repair. The drawers have even been outfitted with a back leg that catches the drawer when you pull it all the way so it doesn't just dump on the floor! GENIUS.
This piece is in amazing condition structurally and the original little labels that help tell its story. The solid metal casters are greased up and smooth rollin'! Let this hand piece serve you in style for many decades to come.
