Stunning tiger oak barristers' bookcase from New York! Manufactured in the 1920s by C. J. Lundstrom Mfg. Co., this piece is still a classic addition to any office or living room! All the doors are functional with the original hardware mechanisms. Overall in fantastic condition.
Carl Johan Lundstrom migrated to Little Falls , NY in 1889 from Stockholm, Sweden in his early 20’s to work as an inventor and draftsman for D.H. Burrell. He later became a patent attorney before starting his own business. The C. J. Lundstrom Mfg. Co. began manufacturing sectional bookcases in 1899. Using their own company patents, Lundstrom eventually became one of the largest manufacturers of sectional barrister bookcases in the United States. Lundstrom's signature patent was for the company's Barrister Law Bookcase. The company only sold by direct sales, from the factory directly to the customer.
