Early Red Wing Butter Churn

$295.00

She is, to me, the loveliest butter churn we have had come through our doors. She has some small chips around her edges, but that does not detract from her perfection in my eyes! This early (pre-1906) Red Wing stoneware piece has a deep, rich Albany Slip (brown) interior, and a Ribcage and Bullseye / “Bee Sting” motif, a variation on the more common “Double P” design. There are no markings, which is typical for pieces of her age. Her hand-built handles are flawless, she has no cracks or large unsightly glazing irregularities or stains, and she’s a wonderful 4 gallon size- perfect for displaying on a console table. If we were allowed to “foster” our antiques, trust me when I say she would be living at my house. Adopt her today and she’ll make an excellent companion to your home!
