Albert Schoenhut, a German woodworker, started the A Schoenhut toy company in Philadelphia, PA in the late 1800s. The very first products manufactured and sold were toy pianos, like this one here! The keys still work, producing a soft metallic tinkle not unlike a xylophone. There are signs of repair on one side as shown in photos, but the neoclassical decal on the face of the piano is in excellent condition.
