




Rochester Root Beer Barrel
Rochester Root Beer was a product of the J. Hungerford Smith Company, located in Rochester, NY. The company was founded in the 1880’s and produced soda syrups after the company’s founder (of the same name) honed his syrup making skills whilst working at drug store fountains in his youth. This early 20th-century barrel has an enameled metal decal label on one side and remnants of a paper label on the other. The original pour spout is intact as is the wood lid and metal liner.
