Band-aid repairs are the traditional method to repair broken panes in leaded glass windows - their addition demonstrates the complexities of age and weathering with materiality . Ancient stained glass with many dozens of bandaids (see 12th photo) was mimicked in later revival styles to make then-new pieces appear older than they actually were (last photo). Though these repairs seem to be due to necessity, their inclusion takes on an aesthetic of their own.
