Ornate Low Country Armoire
Replete with ornately carved details, this Renaissance Revival bureau is a statement piece. This continental walnut armoire hails from the low countries and has a 19th-century vintage. The cabinet features a wealth of storage hidden by openwork panels backed with red velvet and a generously sized lower drawer. Each door is fitted with an ornate brass escutcheon and has a mortise box for locking, though the key is no longer with the piece. Thematically, this piece has lots of floral and foliate forms along with fully turned columns on each side.
