








Liquidometer Corporation Sign
Clarence A. DeGiers invented the Liquidometer to show the level of gasoline in service station storage tanks. DiGiers was a WWI aviator who had extensive experience in the maintenance of aircraft and used his knowledge to craft a device that would eventually be adapted to measure liquid and air levels in everything from milk tanks to boats. The Bellows Falls, Massachusetts manufacturing plant was a fixture of the community for many decades, and this sign dates to its earlier years in the 1930s.
