Luxfer Prism Glass Tiles - "Raindrop"

$18.00

Introducing a beautifully crafted antique architectural prism tile from the early 1900s. These exquisite glass tiles were primarily utilized in commercial leaded transoms to enhance ambient light during a time when electricity was not yet common. This particular tile pattern features 13 raised water droplets arranged in diamond-formation on one side and rows of sawtooth-profiled ribs on the other - creating a stunning visual effect from different angles. These tiles, once clear, were made with manganese which over time reacts with UV from the Sun and slowly turns an amethyst purple.

This tile showcases the artistry of the American Luxfer Prism Company, one of the leading prismatic tile manufacturers of its time. Luxfer often combined a mix of graphic designs in their transoms, making this tile one small piece of significant architectural history. Dimensions: 3 7/8” x 3 7/8", with a pattern on both sides. Don't miss the opportunity to own this unique piece of design heritage.

*Note: glass tiles are salvaged from over 100-years of use, cleaned to the best of our ability, but may include slight imperfections such as mineral stains, air bubbles, lines or scratches. You may inquire for current condition before purchasing.

**Shipping: Common Carrier is set as the default option for the purchase of one tile at a time. For shipping purchases of more than one tile, please inquire for a Custom Shipping Quote.
