For a style that is approaching 150 years old, Art Nouveau, or the New Art, still feels as fresh as the flora it is inspired by!

This window features a spear-shaped cluster of beveled glass at its center stand against a gridwork of wavy glass that is broken up by curved lines - much like vines on a trellis. There’s a quasi-Egyptian pattern to the line-work, which shows craftspeople of the time were drawing upon ancient precedents in a creative and contemporary fashion.

The piece is in great condition for its age. It appears the caming is done in zinc, a harder and more durable metal, and has been recently recemeted. Ghosts of past hardware as well as the rabbet of the frame show that this was once used as a casement style window. The original interior side of the frame is stained wood in a dark walnut finish, while the exterior has been primed white.
