This “nerve tonic” along with many other snake oils of the time, were banned under the 1905 Act which was for prohibiting these unregulated miracle cures from entering the market. Often, they contained opium, alcohol, and other illicit drugs to get the consumer hooked on buying them. Even though the use and production of these were not good things for society, the signs themselves encapsulate a very odd and interesting time in history!
